SPIN THE RIM · TAP A VENUE TO SEE THE GIG

The programme

Two weeks, seven venues. We begin with live coding at Sabha and end with Monsoon Jam, CBP & Co. and TAAQ at The Humming Tree. In between: a listening session, improvised electronics, songs in a blue room, Esperanto in Kengeri and Bindhumalini in Yelahanka. Pick a date. Better yet, pick a few.

20 SEP · THE HUMMING TREE

The magazine is the ticket

Issue N°05 listens to Bengaluru: musicians in conversation, the people who taught us to hear, the history of jam, fiction, and an anthem for the city. On 20 September, your copy gets you into The Humming Tree. Bring the magazine; that’s the ticket.

Why seven venues

Bengaluru has never needed much persuading to show up for music. We have queued at Palace Grounds, squeezed into basements, argued over guitarists at Purple Haze and found ourselves at gigs on the other side of town. The traffic is forgotten by the time the first note lands.

We made an issue about that city. A single launch party felt a little too neat. So, for two weeks, Issue N°05 travels: to a workshop, a listening room, courtyards, bars and stages across Bengaluru.

Come for the artist you know. Leave with somebody new stuck in your head. We’ll meet at The Humming Tree on 20 September, magazine in hand.
